This is the NBL heritage plant, with a total capacity of 2.0 million hectolitres of beer. The plant sources water from the Source of River Nile on Lake Victoria, giving credence to one one of its brands, Nile Special being a “True Reward from the Source”.

Jinja is also a home to the country’s only Malting Plant. The plant was commissioned in November 2011 with initial capacity of 15,000MT of Malt adjusted to 30,000MT per Annum, and is delivering the best quality malt in Africa. It is the sole supplier of Malt to Nile Breweries Beer Plants in Jinja and Mbarara and some other ABInBev Breweries in East Africa.

Jinja Maltings is the Africa’s Best Vertical Operations Plant 6 years in a row, has won Africa Quality always leaders Award 4years in the row, and the first Autonomous Champion Plant in Africa.

The Plant uses locally grown barley as a raw material through the maltings process to convert it into Malt which is distributed to the Breweries for Brewing of Beer. The plant has improved the livelihood of so many Ugandans (farmers). More than 10,000 farmers are locally supported by the company to grow and supply barley to the Maltings Plant.
