APM Terminals Libera operates a state-of-the-art multi-purpose port in the Freeport of Monrovia under concession from the Government of Liberia. With a capacity of approximately 200,00 TEU per year, the terminal also has facilities for General Cargo (Rice, Wheat, Cement, Clinker, Limestone, Gypsum etc.), Project Cargo and Break Bulk, and provides pilotage and towing services. APM Terminals commenced operations in February 2011 and completed a USD 125 mill upgrade of the facility in 2017. The terminal was upgraded to internationally recognised standards, with fully paved yard, specialist reefer facilities, biometric access control and full CCTV coverage for the highest levels of security, and 4 x 500kva generators providing triple redundancy for business continuity.
